LOVE CANDLE RITUAL
This Love candle is intended to invoke self-loving care. You may want to use it to call in love in a general sense, but be aware that if you are tempted to call in a certain person, what you send out comes back 3 times fold and is therefore not recommended.
Also, learning to accept yourself wholly will attract the love of another, so we suggest starting there!
Botanical: Plum blossoms & Rose petals~ hope, vitality & renewal
Crystal: Rose Quartz~ a stone for the heart chakra, opening the heart up to all types of love
Fragrance: Amber Resin & Rose Wood ~ love, peace & beauty. Rose has the highest vibrational frequency of all flowers.
Colour: Pink ~ love, friendship & compassion (softer emotions around love versus that of red which is related to passion & desire)
Preparation:
Read through the whole ritual before beginning.
The crystals on the top of the candle are beads, they should be taken off the top and can be threaded through a piece of string or carried in a pouch (using the suggested colour) to wear on the neck, wrist or ankle, or can be added to your alter.
Suggested Moon Cycle or Day of the week:
Waxing Moon

RITUAL
Start by setting the candle on a sturdy surface so you can see the flame and get comfortable.
Light the candle
Drop into this moment by bringing your focus to your breath. Using the box breath, breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, breathe out for 4, hold for 4 and repeat.
Do this until you feel a natural rhythm with it and you have cleared your mind.
Recall something about yourself that lies in the shadows that you feel is a shameful or negative characteristic about yourself. This could be a pattern, a quality, a physical body part.
Write down what has come to mind.
Imagine this quality is part of a version of yourself that is a separate person. Maybe this pattern started when you were a teenager, maybe you have been feeling self-conscious as about this quality since you were a child. Picture yourself in that time, and imagine they were sitting beside you, like a friend coming for advice. If this was a child, or a teenager or even a friend expressing their insecurities how would you treat them? You likely wouldn’t be harsh with your words. You would be compassionate and understanding. So be kind and start to have a conversation with yourself. This conversation can be in your mind, out loud or in a journal. Tell this version of you that it is ok to feel what they feel, that they are safe, that you love them, and whatever other caring sentiments you feel.
Once you have shown yourself some compassion hold the rose quartz in your hands, stare into the flame until you see a warm pink glow rising from the flame. Bring this light towards you and the version sitting beside you, imaging it’s warm rosy glow enveloping you both, holding all the versions of yourself in unconditional love.
Repeat the following incantation 3 times:
All that I require I posses within
I am life and I am love
I take the time to care for myself so I may have the ability to care for others
I honour my soul and nurture my spirit
I am worthy of love from myself and accepting of love from others
I accept all the pieces within me and am grateful for all the gifts they provide that make me uniquely me.
So mote it be
When you are finished, create a mantra using an ‘I’ statement-
I am … Strong, Passionate, Capable
And finish with
…And I love myself unconditionally
Write your personal mantra down somewhere you’ll see it so you can remember to repeat it. Set it as a reminder on your phone, or post it on your bathroom mirror.
The purpose of this practice is to learn that by having a kind and understanding conversation with yourself, you will come to see that those qualities which you deemed horrible or negative really exist to protect you and once you love them and give them the space to exist within yourself they become less intense and they will start showing up with less force. To accept all of yourself is the greatest gift you can allow yourself. This practice takes time. You can light the candle and work with one aspect at a time so it’s not so overwhelming. Remember to be patient and believe in yourself.
Blessed Be
