LITHA CANDLE
Botanical: Oak ~ symbolizing strength, endurance + power. Also stands for the Celtic mythological Oak King who represents the summer.
Crystal: Tiger’s Eye ~ high vibration stone combining the energies of the earth + that of the sun
Fragrance: Sandalwood ~ invokes enlightenment + higher consciousness
Date: June 20th or 21st
The Summer Solstice, celebrates the longest day and shortest night. Indicated by flourishing flowers and the promise of bountiful fruit. A day meant to immerse yourself in nature, appreciating the bright blue skies, golden sun and verdant earth. It’s a time to rejoice in the full rays of sunshine and all the lush greenery that abounds, yet we’re also reminded of the eternal cycle of birth and death as these vibrant flowers fade,
giving way to the ripening fruit.
Mythologically, this is the apex of the Oak Kings reign, as he yields to the rising Holly King, symbolizing the transition as daylight begins to wane once more.
RITUAL
The Midsummer is bright, light and joyous, and so too is this Ritual. Spend as much time as you can outside, preferably in nature, by the beach, in the mountains. Literally stopping to smell the flowers and appreciating the beauty of these long sunny days.
CREATE YOUR ALTER
Bring things home from your day outside, flowers, leaves, seashells, sand, whatever reminds you of the warm and sunny days. You may even want to do this Ritual outside in the warm evening air! Create an alter that represents the blue sky, golden sun and green earth. We are appreciating the flourishing of everything, both within and without, if you have been working with intentions and goals since Imbolc, then consider how far you’ve come and include items which represent this growth.

Reflect on the sources of joy in your life, observing how these feelings manifest within your body—perhaps you notice a comforting warmth or a lightness in your limbs. Tracking these sensations bring a mindful awareness
that is a good practice which aids in balancing your nervous system.
Next, contemplate your achievements thus far in the year. Acknowledge and appreciate what you have accomplished or received. If any of these relate to the intentions you set at Imbolc notice how they are materializing and what has come to fruition.
Record these reflections in your journal and identify one actionable step to sustain your momentum. By recognizing your progress, you propel yourself forward with renewed awareness and purpose.
