HEALING CANDLE RITUAL
The Healing Ritual can be attuned to any type of healing that needs to occur, whether it’s healing from past or current trauma, loss of a loved one, loss of a version of yourself, healing from a broken heart, or aid in the emotional component when healing from physical trauma.
Botanical: Lavender ~ Calming, promotes peace + relaxation
Crystal: Labradorite ~ Connects us to the cosmos + helps us self-regulate
Fragrance: Vetiver ~ Soothes feelings of anger + anxiety. Helps with balancing + grounding
Colour: Blue ~ healing + spiritual development
PREPARATION:
Read through the whole ritual before beginning.
The crystals on the top of the candle are beads, they should be taken off the top and can be threaded through a piece of string or carried in a pouch (using the suggested colour) to wear on the neck, wrist or ankle, or can be added to your alter.
Suggested Moon Cycle or Day of the week:
Full or Waning Moon
Wednesday or Saturday
THE RITUAL
Find a comfortable place to sit with a stable surface to set the candle in front of you.
Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth, imagine the world melting away with each exhale so you can arrive in this present moment.
Start by taking the unlit candle and inhaling the scent of Lavender and Vetiver. Feeling the soothing, calming effects of these plants. Image their properties filling your body and spirit, in through the nose and going all the way to the feet, grounding you into the earth.
Light the candle and watch the flame, be aware of the light it gives, be aware of the warmth it puts off, creating a safe space for you to return to. If at anytime during this process you start to feel overwhelmed remember to draw your attention back to the safety of the flame and this present moment.
Hold the labradorite bead and start to bring your intention to your minds eye. Gently call on an image of what you want to heal. This could be the person you lost, an image of yourself, or get creative… maybe it’s a colour, animal or plant that you associate with this situation or ailment.
Staring into the candle flame, picture the light and warmth slowly growing, outward it expands to envelope you, wrapping you in a protective glow, encompassing all of you and the image you brought to your mind. If you are grieving the loss of another you can picture this light of love enveloping them as well.
Repeat the following incantation three times either out loud or in your mind:
I call upon the healing properties of Vetiver, Labradorite, and Lavender,
to calm my mind, soothe my soul and ground my emotion
I release that which does not serve me
I accept the gifts and love from the universe that benefits my higher self.
Add your own incantation here, examples might sound like:
“I release or break the connection between myself & (the person who hurt you), I give back any energy I am holding onto and I take back that which is mine”
“I call upon the love that binds me to (the person you lost) & trust that we are always connected through eternal energy”
“I release any emotion associated with this trauma that is no longer serving me”
And trust in my process to allow this healing to occur and bring peace.

You may want to journal or speak out loud anything that comes to mind afterwards as a way to help you release.
Now, imagine that white or golden light from the flame around you and bring it into your heart. It is your source of comfort, protection and love.
You can light the candle to help reignite this source energy anytime you need it.
You can also choose to use the candle as a time frame for when you will completely let go. Such as, “once this candle burns out, so will my grief, anger, or any emotion that is not serving me any longer.”
Remember that healing is not linear so take pride in any steps you take towards your healing and be kind on yourself if those emotions come up, simple light a candle and give them back to the flame.
