A versatile candle Ritual to bless anything from the purchase of a new home to a new venture or business deal to new life and the birth of a baby.

Botanical: Daisy, Pearly Everlasting ~ Daisies are a symbol of innocence  + carries well wishes. Pearly Everlasting symbolizes life-everlasting.

Crystal: Moonstone ~ provides health and protection

Fragrance: Blue sage & Sandalwood ~ both scents are used in purification + to clear old energy.

Colour: White ~ represents peace, purity + tranquility

Preparation:

Read through the whole ritual before beginning.

The crystals on the top of the candle are beads, they should be taken off the top and can be threaded through a piece of string or carried in a pouch (using the suggested colour) to wear on the neck, wrist or ankle, or can be added to your alter.

You’ll also want to sustainably acquire or purchase from a reliable source, a piece of Palo Santo, braid of Sweet Grass or bundle of Sage to smudge with during this ceremony.

Start by setting the candle on a sturdy surface so you can see the flame and get comfortable.

Light the candle

Drop into this moment by bringing your focus to your breath. Use a simple equalizing breath of breathing in for 4-6 counts and breathing out for the same amount. Continuing this until you feel like you’ve cleared your mind.

Before beginning, consider your intentions with this Ritual and what or who you are blessing. It’s best done if you are in the space (a house for example) or with the person but you can always hold them in your mind’s eye if not.

Once you have the intentions set, use the candle to light the Sage or whatever you are using to smudge. Smudging is a tradition sacred to many Indigenous cultures around the world. It is the practice of using smoke to purify and clear away any unwanted, negative or left-over energy. You can first smudge yourself, using your hand or a feather to direct the smoke over your body, imagining that stagnant energy being carried away with the smoke.

Carry on by smudging the area, person, or situation you are blessing. Again, imagining or out loud asking the smoke to carry away any negative or residual unwanted energy back into the universe and calling in the blessing.

Once complete, hold onto the Moonstone, feeling the purity of your intentions and repeat this incantation 3 times over:

I call upon the elements and the universal source.

In pure intention and for the greater good of all,

May this blessing be in service for the highest good of _____ (child, home, situation)

Stare into the flame until you see a brilliant white or ultraviolet light start to rise. Allow this light to emanate outwards, enveloping you and all that you are blessing, creating a beautiful protective bubble. You can call this light to surround your blessing at any time.
